Carol Rondinelli’s artwork is about the beauty of nature. Her work has an amazing relaxed sensation of softness because of her chosen medium, colored pencil on suede board. This award-winning artist studied commercial art at Jonson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, and has studied under noted artists such as Robert Gunn and Lee Hammond. “In my wildlife portraits, I start with the eyes. These ‘windows to the soul’ are the key elements of a successful composition. I visit zoos and botanical gardens in search of new subjects.” Carol has won many awards for her art showing in the metro area and her work is in private collections across the world as far away as New Zealand. Her most noted project was as one of the illustrators for the Ozark Literary Anthology. Carol reaches out to her community by teaching colored pencil classes and hosts a weekly Art Club in her studio. She wants her work to depict the magnificence of creation and to reach out to her viewers with the sensation of stopping to smell the roses in life.
