Award-winning encaustic artist, LeAnn Bova, is an art adventurer. The experiences and ephemera that she collects while hiking and traveling spark new inspirations for her encaustic paintings with both natural and unnatural wonders. LeAnn Bova spent her childhood in rural Kansas. While visiting her aunt on summer vacations in Kansas City to visit her aunt with trips to the Nelson Atkins Gallery of Art gave her a life long desire to be an artist. After a career with a telecommunications company, LeAnn earned her Associate of Arts degree at Johnson County Community College, and a BFA in painting from The University of Kansas, including a study abroad at the instituto Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence, Italy. Her selected works appear in the permanent student collection at the Nerman Museum of contemporary art and in private collections. Her works on paper appeared in the Nelson-Atkins Student Art Exhibition 2014 – 2016.
